Beautiful Girlies with Braids

Nana stopped by today and while she was here she braided some hair.  The girls looked so cute!  I remember Nana braiding my hair all the time when I was their age.  I just don't have her skills!

A Day With Grandpa

Gracie was sick again today.  I was scheduled to go to Quincy for a conference with a group of teachers from Tri-County.  I really didn't feel like I could miss it, so Dad came up and stayed with Gracie.  Even though she was puny, they still had fun.  When I got home, they had built this Lego tower that practically went to the ceiling!

A Trip to the Dentist

Gracie didn't have school today, so I scheduled a dentist appointment for her.  She has never been to the dentist before, so it's safe to say that she was nervous.  It was fun to watch her relax as she quickly realized this wasn't going to be a horrible experience.  First they had her watch a cartoon about going to the dentist and what she would experience.  After the movie, they gave her cool sunglasses to wear while they took her x-ray.  She chose purple!   Then she got to pick from about 8 flavors to choose her flavor of cleaner they would use on her teeth.  The dentist came in and informed her that she takes marvelous care of her teeth.  Fortunately, she had no cavities, so it really was a pleasant trip to the dentist.  He did tell us to go ahead and start saving up for braces in the future!  (We pretty much already knew that!)  The dentist gave Gracie a backpack full of goodies and let her pick a prize.  She had a much better time than I did since I had to write the check for her dental visit.  Yikes!

Gracie's 2nd Grade Music Concert

Gracie was all smiles before her concert.  She was excited because Mamaw and Grandpa & Nana were all coming.

This picture doesn't even show all of the second graders.  It's a big change from Atlanta, but I think Gracie has adjusted remarkably well.

Gracie's music teacher did a great job. The second grade classes all sang together, but during each song a different class would come forward to the floor and play instruments of all kinds during the songs.  Sometimes they were strange instruments that I've never seen before, so it was really neat.
