Little Lambs and God Rods

Those Little Lambs keep getting cuter and cuter.

They also keep increasing in numbers!  When we first started going to Crossroads there were about ten Little Lambs on a good night.  Now we have up to thirty kids every Sunday night.
Ella still loves ringing those handbells!

Sis is looking excited for her turn to perform!

The God Rods use wooden rods and do actions to songs.  Gracie's song used ribbons attached to the rods, so it looked really neat.

We're so proud of our girls!  They love being involved in the church, so it's never hard for us to get them to come to practices.

Arbor Day

The ethanol plant called and asked if I would like to bring my class out and plant a tree for Arbor Day.  It was a fast and easy field trip so we went.  After all the beautiful weather we have had this spring, it was a miserably cold and wet day, but we still got that tree in the ground!

The Day Started Out a Little Rough

Ella does not perform well in the morning.  She NEVER wants to get up.  After I have to drag her out of bed (sometimes literally), it's probably a full 20 minutes before she's pleasant to speak to.  This morning I put her at the kitchen table for breakfast, and when I turned back around she was fast asleep.  It was pretty funny, but really didn't help me in my quest to be at work on time! I'd like to say she will outgrow this, but I'm married to her daddy, so I know better!

Ella's Field Trip

Today Ella's class got to go to Longbranch Lake and learn about some of the fish and turtles in the lake.  One of the perks of me teaching at TCCS is that I get to go on Ella's field trips with her.  It was so cute to watch her interacting with her friends.
Ella took her camera so she could take pictures.  I enjoyed seeing the many, many, many pictures she took of the same fish over and over again.  ;-)

Two of Ella's best friends are Megan and Ava.

There's the whole crew.  Ella, Ava, Megan, and Reagan

This is both of the Middler classes combined.  Ella's class has 10 kids.

This snapping turtle seemed fascinated by the kids.

Ella liked watching the turtles getting fed.

Dad's Surgery and Ella's Program

Today was Dad's hernia repair surgery.  He was scheduled for early in the morning, so I headed to Columbia bright and early as well.  I got there in time to see him before the surgery.  It wasn't very exciting for him since the last big surgery had complications.  Plus, he will be on such a restricted diet for a while that it would be impossible to be excited about the surgery!
This picture was taken after the surgery, which went perfectly.  Dad looked so good that you wouldn't know anything had happened.  A few hours later he didn't look this perky, so I guess the medicine was still working in this picture.
Tonight was Ella's spring music program at Tri-County.  Ella did a fantastic job singing her songs and saying her verse.

Ella was excited that Mama got to come see her perform!

Jefferson City Field Trip

Fourth grade students at Tri-County always go to the capitol for their spring field trip.  It was fortunate that the middle school students also needed to go this year, so we went together.  I didn't have to plan it for my first year, and I just got to go along and enjoy.  My kids were super excited, and so was Chloe, who is our school's "helper" who comes everyday.  She would come to my class everyday during History when we were studying Missouri, so I asked her parents if she could come on our field trip.  Since most of my students had a parent with them, Chloe was my buddy for the day.

Chloe loved The Whisper Room, but she did not want to go the rest of the way up to the dome.  We got to go outside and walk around the dome, which was really cool.

We were fortunate to get to meet Bill Stouffer and get a picture with him.  We also met and spoke with Brian Munzlinger.  The kids got to sit in on the House and Senate sessions.  It was very interesting and gave them a "real" picture of what our government looks like in action.

After we left the capitol, we went to Central Dairy.  Chloe was a fan!

TCCS Spelling Bee

I was in charge of the Tri-County Spelling Bee since I'm the fourth grade teacher.  I used to love spelling bees when I was younger, although I never did well in them.  I got too nervous!  The above picture shows the third and fourth grade winners.

These are my fourth grade winners.  Alexis was the fourth grade winner.  Isabelle placed second and Terrell placed third.  I was so proud of their effort!
