Fourth grade students at Tri-County always go to the capitol for their spring field trip. It was fortunate that the middle school students also needed to go this year, so we went together. I didn't have to plan it for my first year, and I just got to go along and enjoy. My kids were super excited, and so was Chloe, who is our school's "helper" who comes everyday. She would come to my class everyday during History when we were studying Missouri, so I asked her parents if she could come on our field trip. Since most of my students had a parent with them, Chloe was my buddy for the day.

Chloe loved The Whisper Room, but she did not want to go the rest of the way up to the dome. We got to go outside and walk around the dome, which was really cool.

We were fortunate to get to meet Bill Stouffer and get a picture with him. We also met and spoke with Brian Munzlinger. The kids got to sit in on the House and Senate sessions. It was very interesting and gave them a "real" picture of what our government looks like in action.

After we left the capitol, we went to Central Dairy. Chloe was a fan!
