I don't have too much to post right now, so I guess that's my excuse for not posting anything at all. Life with a newborn is a lot of fun, but it's not like she's doing funny or monumental things that I feel I need to write about. Ella is doing everything babies should do...eating, sleeping, pooping, crying, so I guess she's normal. We are having lots of fun holding her and getting to know her.
I titled this post "Did you know" because until today I didn't realize how confusing some things still are for Gracie. For instance, the first time Gracie saw me nursing I knew it disturbed her and she didn't like it, but she has accepted it. She told me a few days ago that she still thought babies were supposed to drink from bottles, but she didn't challenge what I was doing. However, today we had to go to Hannibal for my check-up and we stopped at Sutherlands for Brent to check out a few things. Ella wanted to eat so the girls all stayed in the van. Gracie just said, "Well, I guess Ella wants more of that milk from your stomach." Apparently she thinks it's coming from a straw in my stomach up to the baby's mouth! Isn't that a funny visual?! So, did you know that milk comes from the mommy's stomach? Me either! :-)

I just was asking everyone in k-town area if they had heard anything from you and everyone said no. I'm glad to see you had a posting. We all thought you must be really busy. In case your not busy enough you could work on getting some pictures on your blog you know in your spare time! Glad to hear things are going well. Your story about Gracie reminded me of a girl that I babysat for years ago. I was helping her study for a test (she was in 2nd grade so much older then Gracie) The ? was about the digestive system. Her answer was the throat is attached to the intestines. I laugh every time I picture that and now I have another interesting thought to visualize! We miss you guys so keep posting, your stories are always very entertaining!

First, as Art Linkletter used to say, kids says the darndest things. Wait until she asks if Ella is having white or chocolate milk today. :-)
Second, HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY Katelyn Grace (aka Princess Gracie) Doolin. I hope you have a very special, royal day.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers in the loss of your dad (father-in-law and grandpa). I thought it was one of the coolest stories I've ever heard visiting someone with a new baby when I heard the story about him naming all his grandkids. May God comfort you during such a difficult time. He will be sadly missed by many. God bless!!! In Him we trust!!!!! Love you!!!
