Sunday was a wonderful day as we were able to bring our new bundle of joy home. Despite the sleet/hail combination that we ran into on the way home, we had a safe trip home. Eleanor (Ella) Paige Doolin was born at 7:43 a.m. on February 1st and weighed 7 pounds and 1 ounce by the time the doctors rounded up. She was only 18 inches long. Obviously, I was way off on how much I thought she would weigh! Guess I get to lose the extra weight myself since Ella didn't do it for me. She is beautiful, of course, and has a head of dark hair. That was such a fun surprise. I think she looks an awful lot like her big sister, Gracie. Speaking of Gracie, she is doing very well so far. Saturday she reached a turning point and wanted to hold Ella for the first time and love on her. We can see already that she will be very protective. Thank you to all who were praying for a safe delivery. Things went so well. In fact Brent likes to say it was a breeze! :-) I keep teasing him about that since he's not the one healing from surgery. Anyway, we definitely will be working on getting some pictures of the Doolin girls on the blog soon. Now that we have 2 precious girls to show off, we really need to get to work on the pictures.

We're so glad to hear your home! We thought of you guys yesterday with all the crazy weather. We saw pictures of Ella on Sunday. Your right she is beautiful! I was just thinking Ashton and Ella share the same date of birth and the same length. Ashton was 6lbs and 18in long. You might want to practice your sewing skills or be like me and have to pay for alterations. I can't wait to see Ella and her big sister face to face hope we can work that out soon!
She's beautiful! I'm glad I got to see her (and you and Brent) on Saturday. Gracie and I had a good time together. She was certainly not shy around me this time. She does love her grilled cheese!

Well who would have guessed that Kathleen would be the first to post on your first post since you got home. I'm so impressed. To clarify the birth date, Kathleen meant Ella and Ashton were born on the same day (1st) -- but different months (Ashton was born March 1). Didn't want you to think you forgot Ashton's birthday -- which is a milestone one this year -- SWEET 16. Sounds like Aunt Missy gets the pleasure of planning the special event.
Anyway, although I'm surprised since you had a c-section, I am so thankful you got to go home Sunday. I can't imagine the stories Gracie will start telling now. I was just talking about her wild imagination with Linda Chase today. Guess Ella will never be bored. You certainly are a beautiful family. I'll be anxious to start seeing pics.
Congratulations!!! Two little princesses are so much fun!
Congratulations again! So glad I got to see Ella and HOLD Ella before you returned home! She is so precious and gives me baby fever again! hee hee! Can't wait to see pix of the two girls soon! Hope you are getting some rest and healing well.
