Tonight was the costume party for the kids who completed the Summer Reading program the library offered. You had to commit to reading so many books a week or a certain amount of time a day. Both Gracie and Ella participated. Gracie was SO excited for the big celebration costume party. She is decked out as Fancy Nancy. If you aren't familiar with the Fancy Nancy books, you should check them out. They are really cute and remind me a lot of our Gracie..JPG)

I loved this picture of Gracie. I was teasing her the night before the party and I kept calling her Nancy in our conversations. I would say things like, "Well Nancy, it's probably time for your bath." She finally said, "You know Mommy, I like being called Nancy and Fancy Nancy, but I just like being old Gracie the best." They gave away lots of prizes at the end of the party. This was the group of kids who won $5.00 from one of the local banks. Gracie was excited!.JPG)
That $5.00 has already been spent, by the way. She had been wanting another sticker book that we order online, so that's what she got. Ella won a $10.00 gift card to Wal-Mart, but she wasn't as excited as Gracie. The girls also won "The Chronicles of Narnia" series in paperback and a lava lamp. All in all, a very fun evening! We love the library!

So adorable! We (Avary and myself) love Fancy Nancy! I am going to pass along this idea to the ladies at our library!
The library blog reminds me of when I would take you and Dana and then pick up around 10 other kids and go to storytime at the library. They never started until we got there because we were 95% of the crowd. They would say that the bus had arrived and they could now start. I don't know if you remember but that was a very small car but of course back then every child did not have to have a car seat. NANA
How fun! You have a wonderful library! The girls looks super-cute dressed up!
Looks like the girls had a wonderful time!! We have a great library, but I'm embarressed to say we rarely use it. I'm great at checking books OUT, but not so great at the checking them back IN. Jon teases me that we've bought an extra wing in the library with our overdue book fines!
