Lovely Day!

Ella and I were taking turns tickling each others feet!

We go through a lot of sidewalk chalk at our house. I don't like the mess, but Gracie and Ella both love it, so I just deal with the mess. Today Gracie and I made quizzes for each other on the driveway. This was Gracie's color quiz she completed. She enjoys learning activities...even at home.

What a goofy little girl! She is so much fun to be around. Silly, but fun!

Today we ate push pops in the driveway. Ella was already done with the one we shared, so now she's begging for Gracie to share with her. Her begging was unsuccessful.

There is some serious concentration going into pushing up the push pop!

Ella is back again. "Are you sure we can't share, Sissy?"

The icky sticky results of a push pop. I guess it would make for some sweet kisses!

More Magna Doodle Notes

As I mentioned previously, Gracie is constantly writing us notes on her Magna Doodle. Brent thought this one was particularly sweet, so he asked me to take a picture of it. Translation: "I am happy to be your little girl." Obviously her vowel usage is lacking, but it's still cute!

Happy Mother's Day!

This was a doubly special weekend, because it was Mother's Day and Janice's retirement celebrations. We went to Unionville on Friday for the retirement party the school had for all of the staff that was retiring. I didn't get any pictures at it because Ella was sick, so I couldn't do anything but hold her. We stayed through Sunday so that we could have a retirement party for Janice after church on Sunday. Brent's Grandma Eileen and his mom, Janice

Janice surprised me by asking my parents and Grandma to come up for the day. This picture shows my Grandma Kaser and my mom.

This picture was meant to be a 4 generation photo. Sometimes you just take what you can get, and that day, we couldn't get a smile from Gracie or Ella. Moving right along...

Gene and Donita Weece enjoying cake at the reception.

Janice Bowman and Darlene and Larry Cassady with Janice

The colorful food table. We had 4 kinds of cakes, 8000 homemade mints (OK, that's a stretch, but it's a long running joke), nuts, and punch.

Charlie Bill Pittman greeting Brent and Ella.

Brenda and Jaden were keeping the punch comin'!

Janice showing off the flower pot my parents gave her for her retirement.

Silly Ella loves to tickle her own feet. She likes it even better if we will tickle her, but if no one is around, she will do it herself.

Ella was opening up and getting ready for a bite of cake heading her way.

Oh, my goodness! We could probably check her tonsils in this photo. Get that cake to her mouth...quick!

Gracie is old enough to know how to use better manners than Ella while eating her cake.

Gracie and Kalyn went to the nursery during the reception and played. This is all an act. They aren't really asleep!
Ella also likes to pull her toes apart and look for what we call "toe jam." Gracie used to do the same thing, so we find it really funny!

The Fairies at Work

This weekend we were in Unionville for Brent's Mom's Retirement celebrations. When we got home, Gracie found that her room had been tampered with. There was a Magna Doodle on her bed with a note saying, "The fairies came for a visit. Sorry. Love you." Someone had rearranged some of her animals and dolls from their proper locations.
This poor rabbit was not only squished behind her bed, but he had to wear brunette hair extensions.
Mr. Teddy Bear doesn't belong in Gracie's princess chair.

Dora and her little bear shouldn't be behind the pillows.

Gracie erased the original message on her Magna Doodle, and this is what she wrote. She knows her Grandpa Self is very mischievous. In fact, she often prays that Grandpa will learn to stop teasing. She wrote a note to my dad as well, asking him why he messed up her room. She wants to know when he will be back in Macon to straighten her room up. We're waiting, Grandpa.

May Day Festival at Tri-County

Today was Gracie's May Day Festival at her school. We all got to be there with her, and it was a beautiful day! We actually got hot at one point.
Lucas Brammer, the king of May Day, is in Gracie's class. We didn't enter Gracie in the queen contest, but maybe we should have. Only one girl entered!
Gracie played a few games, but quickly decided it was more fun to spend her time in the bounce houses. Here she was playing the Duck Pond game.

Tri-County had 3 different bounce houses for the event. We spent the afternoon standing in lines at each bounce house. The irony is that we actually own a bounce house that is in our garage and can only be setup periodically when the weather is nice. She loves it though!

This little piggy went to Tri-County Christian school's May Day Festival, and he stole the show. So cute!!! He made me want to watch Charlotte's Web again.

Ella enjoyed the petting zoo animals just as much as Gracie. The lambs were very soft.

Miss Ella wanted out of her stroller in a big way, but she was pretty patient as she watched kids all around her having fun. Maybe next year she can participate.

Gracie had to go back to see our little piggy friend a few times.

These little lambs were very patient with the kids.

Oh, what a happy day it was! Gracie was so glad for nice weather! We all were.

Prom 2009

This is one of the only shots of Brent and myself at prom. We took it ourselves by holding the camera out in front of us.
Julie, the superintendent's wife, and I talked the whole night. We were good chaperons and sat and critiqued the dresses and dancing. Not really! Actually we just enjoyed talking about people we knew in common from high school days, our common interest in Schwan's food, and being Mommy's.

Will, Mr. Superintendent, and his wife Julie. It was a late evening by the time we stayed and helped with cleanup. I'm not very good at staying up past 11 p.m., so it was a challenge. All in all, a fun evening.
