As If We Needed One More Dress
This is the newest addition to Gracie's dress-up collection. Most of her "gowns" as she likes to call them, were given to us as gifts or hand-me-downs. Last week Brent was cruising the toy aisle at Wal-Mart with her while I shopped and she laid her pretty brown eyes upon this gown. She asked me to buy it and I told her she would have to spend her monkey bank money if she wanted it. (Most kids have a piggy bank, but Gracie has a monkey bank!) That was the first time we have made her use her money for a purchase. She came home and counted her money and had exactly the right amount of money. I took her back to buy it and she spent the rest of the day in a wonderful mood while dancing and giggling. It's hard to explain, but those gowns make her feel like she IS a princess and they encourage her to dream and imagine. As most of you know, she has a strong imagination anyway, but it's fun to see her channel her imagination into ballet these days. On that day, she was a beautiful ballerina who let her daddy dance around the living room as the prince. No photos were allowed!
