Later Gracie got very sad as she realized Ella is growing bigger. She said she wanted Ella to stay little, and I told her that couldn't happen. Later, that night Gracie was taking her bath and she started crying. Brent asked her why she was crying and she said, "Someday I'm going to get big and I won't live with you anymore, and I don't want to leave you guys." I don't know who planted this seed in her little four year old brain, but it was so sad to see her crying about such a big concept. Brent held her for a long time and told her she would always be his little girl. We all got a little teary eyed over that conversation.
Welcome to our blog. Brent is a principal, Emily teaches fourth grade, and Gracie and Ella are our little angels. We use this blog as our family scrapbook, so feel free to read away. However, I won't be surprised if you find our daily happenings to be dull! :-)

Why Does Ella Have to Grow?

Awwwwwww...what a sweet story!
That's so sweet! Isn't it amazing to see how their minds put things together?
I would have cried had I been there too and in fact my eyes are moist now.

Emily - that is so sweet...I think it would have broken my heart if Elise had somehow come up with that comment as well.
On a side note - I cannot believe how much your girls look like you!
Definitely enjoying your blog!

Monica,
I'll have to post a picture of Brent, and unfortunately you will no longer think my girls look like me! :-) I'm always glad to hear someone say they do resemble me though, so thank you!
It does make you sad when they come up with those kind of thoughts but from experience I will tell you something special emerges from every different phase of their life. In most cases just enlarging your circle of love Mama
