Happy Fourth of July

Gracie loved the fireworks this year. She especially enjoyed lighting sparklers!
Brent's sister put together a float for the Doolin plumbing business and her daycare for Unionville's Fourth of July parade. A lot of the Doolin family got to ride on the float (minus Ella), as well as many of the daycare children. Almost everyone was dressed in patriotic outfits, so it was pretty cute. Gracie enjoyed waving at "her public."

I think Brent secretly enjoyed riding in the parade too. Probably watching Gracie enjoy it was the most fun part for him.
This is why Ella didn't ride on the float. She started out sleeping, so I guess she could have ridden in her car seat, but we decided it would be easier if she just stayed with us. There were a lot of bodies on the float, so it could have been nerve wracking for a baby.

Ella celebrating her first Fourth of July.
Gracie enjoys sitting on Mama's screened in porch and rocking or swinging.
The Self's came along for the Fourth of July celebration, as well as my Grandma Kaser.
This is Brent's Grandma Eileen. She loves to hold the babies whenever they are around.
Brent's great-uncle Leslie is recovering from a broken hip, but he and his wife Blanche still made it over for lunch. Cousin Madison got in on the photo session as well.

Happy 4th of July to you as well! Looks like everyone had fun and you could not have asked for a nicer day for a parade. How neat that Gracie and Brent were dressed alike. So cute. It's usually raining or miserably hot so we were very thankful here in Carthage for the beautiful weather. Alisha and I rode in the back of gpa Neally's pimped out red truck with the boys, my nieces (Chauntel--Alan's daughter and Abbie May--Phillips's daughter whom you met at th+7e Duerr ft game in Qcy last week). We were amazed that Gunner seemed to be mezmerised (sp=?) by the fireworks and Gavin wasn't sure about them. He didn't scream or cry but couldn't figure out if he liked them or not.

The girls look so cute in their patriotic outfits. That hat on Miss Ella is adorable! The parade looks fun and I bet Gracie had lots of chances to use her Miss America waves:)
