ER Fair in Moberly

Moberly Regional Medical Center hosted a Kid's Fair on the hospital lawn and parking lot today. We had signed the girls up to go, and I'm so glad we did. I didn't know much about it except that they advertised games and food. :-) It sounded like a winning combination for Gracie! It ended up being one of the neatest FREE experiences we have had with Gracie.Gracie posed with Dr. Bear who was working the crowd during the fair. She told my dad that Dr. Bear was just a person in a costume, because she could see her eyes through the mask.

The Fire Department was there with their trucks and let Gracie try out the driver's seat.

The fireman gave Gracie some neat coloring books and goodies to take home.
There were over 30 booths you could walk to for freebies and literature on different things affecting kids. Most of the booths had games or goodies for the kids.

We bumped into Gracie's cousin Elsie who was having a good time at the fair also. Notice the yummy cotton candy Gracie got.
Every child got a free bike helmet as long as you stood in line to get fitted for one.
The Tae Kwon Do Academy demonstrated cool moves and had a game to play.
While Grandpa and Gracie checked out the helicopter, the pilot checked out Ella.

The Emergency Room was open for kids to take a teddy bear for a check-up. Gracie's bear hurt its head, so the nurse bandaged it up and gave her some care instructions for the bear. He's due back for another check-up in 2 weeks.

The X-Ray technician took a quick x-ray of teddy bear. The x-ray he gave her showed teddy bears hand, complete with a watch and ring on it. :-)
Teddy Bear was feeling much better after his trip to the ER.

The firefighters had a small house that you could pretend was on fire. Each kid got a bucket full of water and was supposed to throw the water on the house. Well, Gracie's technique wasn't too good, so the water all sloshed out of her bucket backwards...on her.

Wet, but happy!

This activity was a little big for Gracie, but she tried anyway. You were supposed to hit a mallet on a target that would then throw a fly into the frogs mouth. Luckily, you got a prize regardless of how well you did. Next year her muscles will be stronger, and maybe she will do better.

This was one of the cutest things they did. The MODOT crew had set up an obstacle course that you could ride tricycles through. A MODOT worked told you to watch out for road work ahead and to follow the signs they held up.

Gracie successfully yielded while another boy rode his tricycle through her lane.
They helped Gracie navigate her tricycle around a road block. Those men were so good with her.

Gracie completed the obstacle course, all smiles and proud of her accomplishment!

Little lefty tried out her arm in the baseball throw. We'll keep working on that one!
Cheese, Daddy! Gracie knew how to earn some brownie points with her daddy.

Gracie really enjoyed trying out some super soccer kicks.

The grand finale of the fair was all of the bouncing and sliding toys. We heard the phrase, "Again, again. One more time." over and over and over and over! What a good time we had. Gracie said her favorite part was the slide, but I told her my favorite part was seeing her in the firetruck and watching her ride through the obstacle course.

It looks like Miss Gracie had a blast. Wapa told me all about the fair on the phone last night. My one question is...where is the picture of Wapa going down the slide???

Oh...right...he had surgery last week. No stressful situations, including killing the snake he found in the window well last night. :-)

How do you find all these fun fairs? I've commented before that you sure know how to have fun but it seems like you have tons of fairs around you. Wish we had more around here that were geared towards lil' ones. Looks like Gracie had tons of fun.
