May Day Festival

Even the horse was having a bad hair day thanks to the wind!

Today was Gracie's May Day Festival at school. Gracie has been excited about it for weeks talking about the various games, snacks and activities they had planned. We collected Box Tops for Education and the winning classroom's teacher was going to kiss a pig. This was a big deal to Gracie. Well this morning I was a little concerned about the weather, but we bundled up and went anyway. It ended up being freezing cold thanks to the wind, and it didn't matter that we were bundled up, it was still cold. There are no buildings around the school to break the wind, so we all got blown away. Needless to say, I was glad I hadn't signed up to be in the dunk tank. Those poor souls were miserable. Ella was nice and snug in her car seat/stroller, so we stayed for about 2 hours and then we gave up and came home. Gracie would have stayed all day to bounce in the bounce house and to jump in the balls. I had started out the day telling her that when we were out of tickets it was time to go home, and that's what we did. Gracie was a trooper and never complained. I can't say the same for myself though!
