The Polite Way To Say "Be Quiet"

Brent took his turn at putting Gracie to bed the other night. She has a hard time going to sleep and staying asleep, so we have gotten in the routine of laying with her for a while. Sometimes we sing, sometimes we tell her a story or sometimes we will just scratch her back to relax her. On Brent's last turn, he was laying with Gracie and telling her how much he loved her, and how special she was, and it must have gone on too long because Gracie looked at him and said, "Daddy, I think it's time we close our eyes now." It shocked him, but he thought it was pretty hilarious at the same time. So now you know the polite way to say "be quiet" from a 3 year old.

What comes around goes around or something like that. This is payback time. When Emily was Gracie's age or younger I would have to stay with her until she slipped into a sound sleep. If I tried to sneak out of her room she would come wide awake and tell me to stay with her longer.

Love,
MOM

How precious! I'm worried how we're going to get along in Arizona with the boys since they are used to being rocked to sleep and there won't be any rocking chairs in the hotel room. Alisha thinks they will be okay. Gavin will just need his routine nightly bath and then hair to run his fingers through. I don't think a story would work with him yet.
